Montgomery-area expectant mothers will have the opportunity to meet directly with pediatricians and representatives from a range of local child and family health organizations. Saturday’s Montgomery Community Baby Shower is hosted by the Montgomery Education Foundation’s Bold Goals Campaign and the Alabama Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Pages Over Pixels initiative.

Organizations participating in the Baby Shower include Family Sunshine Center, Family Guidance Center, Gift of Life, My Care Alabama Central, and The Wellness Coalition, among others. These representatives and local pediatricians will be on hand to answer questions and share information about maternal health, early childhood development, and family support services available to new and expectant mothers, many of which are offered at no cost to families.

All attendees will receive diapers, wipes, sanitary napkins, books, and other materials to support their child’s healthy growth and development, and mothers will also have the opportunity to enroll in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides free books to children from birth to age five.
